Patty Ann enjoys spending time with her husband and two young sons in Redlands. She has faith in Jesus Christ as her Savior from this broken world today, wanting to spread His hope to the broken, sick and hopeless. She enjoys being active through hiking, running, biking and swimming. You can also catch her enjoying the local shopping, local eats, and the local farmers markets or art shows. Both she and her husband are experienced Dodger fans, spending time rooting the boys in blue on, through thick and thin.  She also enjoys traveling, especially to where she grew up in Maryland or to the relaxing beaches of North Shore, Oahu.

I have gone my whole life, not liking the way I look in a mirror. When I started using the products from Patty, and using her self-care recommendations, for the first time in my life, after retirement, I feel beautiful.

Few of us accept our bodies as is. Regardless of how we look or how our body works, we’re disappointed.

Some of us want better nutrition and fitness. Others want better health. Still others want to simply get through the day and not hate ourselves.

In my work as a clinical dietitian and prevention & wellness specialist, I have helped people with eating disorders, bariatric surgery, diabetes, sports nutrition, and wellness (nutrition therapy).

I focus on how to work with your body—as is—and develop science-based personalized action plans to help you reach your goals.

Eating Disorders

Eating disorders are complicated. They are “the perfect storm” of biology, psychology, and interpersonal factors. They impact all areas of your life and can be so serious, they can even be fatal.

–– LEARN MORE ––

Behaviors associated with eating disorders include (but are not limited to):

  • Severe disturbances in how you eat:
    • Overeating
    • Avoiding eating
    • Binge eating
  • Obsessing about:
    • Food
    • Body weight
    • Shape

Through medical nutrition therapy, I work with clients to assess and treat current diagnoses of:

  • Anorexia nervosa
  • Bulimia nervosa
  • Binge-eating disorder

How the process works:

Assessment (2 appointments)

AT OUR FIRST APPOINTMENT

  • We’ll go over your complete medical, dietary and weight history.
  • Food journals/diaries and pertinent weight histories or growth charts (for those under 18) will also be required paperwork.
  • We’ll coordinate with your primary care provider and psychotherapist, if necessary.
  • We’ll discuss your reasons and motivation for treatment as well as nutritional goals for your journey of recovery.

AT OUR SECOND APPOINTMENT

  • We’ll discuss your personalized medical nutrition treatment plan that I created based on our first discussion.
  • Treatment (minimum of 10 weekly or biweekly appointments [or as defined by insurance plan])

AT FOLLOW-UP APPOINTMENTS

  • We’ll see how you’re working with the treatment plan.
  • We might make modifications, if needed, to the meal plan.
  • We’ll tackle real-world nutrition education that focuses on:
    • the spheres of nutrition (biological, social, psychological, and spiritual)
    • intuitive and mindful eating skills
    • practice outings to restaurants
    • challenge snacks
    • grocery store or retail store visits

Wellness (Nutrition Therapy)

Nutrition is a science, not an opinion. With a world of information at our fingertips, the sheer amount of dietary recommendations can be confusing, misleading, and overwhelming. What is called “wellness” often is not. Most fad diets are designed to lose weight the fastest and result in overworking our nervous systems and hurting our metabolism in the long run.

–– LEARN MORE ––

Dietary behaviors based in the science of nutrition have the power to:

  • reduce risk of chronic disease
  • improve overall fitness and health
  • enhance positive moods and mental health
  • increase quality of life

From sedentary individuals to professional athletes, I help clients make dietary changes to reach individual health goals:

  • biological (weight gain or loss)
  • psychological (emotional and mental health)
  • social (eating out, eating with others, or food preparation)

How the process works:

Assessment (2 appointments)

AT OUR FIRST APPOINTMENT

  • We’ll also identify your wellness goals and motivation for nutritional counseling.

AT OUR SECOND APPOINTMENT

We’ll discuss your personalized medical nutrition action plan that I created based on our first discussion.

Counseling (minimum of 10 weekly or biweekly appointments)

AT FOLLOW-UP APPOINTMENTS

  • We’ll tackle real-world nutrition education that focuses on
    • the various concepts of nutrition basics
    • macronutrient counting
    • meal planning, food preparation, food label reading
    • intuitive and mindful eating skills
    • practice outings to restaurants
    • grocery store visits

Diabetes

Following a dietary protocol for diabetes is very important as it can help control blood sugar levels, decrease the risk of heart disease, help with weight goals, and maintain good health.

–– LEARN MORE ––

Medical nutrition therapy for diabetes includes eating a variety of nutrient dense food in moderate amounts with regularly scheduled meal times. With hectic demands of life, a dietary protocol can be challenging to create and navigate. Imagine Wellness is able to assist those with a current diagnosis of prediabetes or diabetes with medical nutrition therapy in order to improve health.

At the initial appointment, information will be gathered regarding medical, dietary, and weight history. Recent blood work results, food journals/diaries, glucose trends, and current medications may also be required paperwork. Coordination of care among your various health professionals will also be addressed. Goals and motivation for treatment will be discussed and established. From this, a medical nutrition therapy treatment plan will be formed and discussed at your follow-up assessment.

Follow-up appointments will include nutrition education which focuses up on the various concepts of the diabetic exchange systems, carbohydrate counting, food label reading, intuitive and mindful eating skills, practice outings to various restaurants, and grocery store visits.

Sports Nutrition

Athletes eat and train, they do not diet and exercise. From recreational to professional, all levels of athletes will benefit from a well-planned dietary prescription.

–– LEARN MORE ––

Fueling your body in order to function well is misunderstood in our current society. Understanding the science behind an athlete’s diet will also assist in motivating the client to follow a dietary protocol to enhance sports performance. Imagine Wellness can assist those interested in improving their dietary behaviors to reach their athletic goals.

At the initial appointment, information will be gathered regarding medical, dietary, and weight history. Possible paperwork may include recent blood work results, food journals/diaries, current activity level/sports involvement, current medications and pertinent weight histories or growth charts (for those under 18). Coordination of care among your various health professionals or coaches/instructors will also be addressed. During this assessment, sport-specific goals and motivation for treatment will be established. From this, a medical nutrition therapy treatment plan will be formed and discussed at your follow-up assessment.

Follow-up appointments will include nutrition education which focuses on the various concepts of sport nutrition basics, macronutrient counting, meal planning, food preparation, food label reading, and supplement education.

“I am on my sixth year of recovery and I have had highs and lows. One thing that has remained constant is my support team. Patty has been amazing and I would not be where I am today in recovery if it wasn’t for her.”

CASSIE, disordered eating client since 2015

Change your thoughts and you may just change your life. With awareness of your daily thoughts, you can heighten productivity and realize the potential and reality of reaching your goals and dreams. What are your life goals? Do you have life dreams? Have you ever sat down and asked yourself this? Or is life just too busy, you are getting up in the morning, going through the motions and then going to bed. What if there is more to life than routine? Or is the routine the dream? I believe that each person has a dream and I want to hear what yours are. I want to know your story and how can you get to the next chapter.  What will it take if you are willing to take the time to be curious how to get there?

A coach has the expertise to facilitate processes that support your journey from where you are to where you want to be. I am able to use an assessment that employs the formal science of axiological mathematics—a deductive science. This is not a personality test, it is much more. This tool allows one to go below the surface of personality and behavior and have a clear and meaningful discussion regarding the baits of thinking that drive both.

At the core of this assessment is the use of Cantor’s Transfinite Calculus and the foundational concept of infinitudes to create a mathematical hierarchy that addresses the three dimensions of human thought.

“I made one of the best decisions and investments of my life when I chose to work with Patty…
The results that I had in six months of time was worth enough to me to continue another six months.”

Lori, coaching client since 2020

Beauty is a unique experience for every person. I want to know your experience. Because then we can get to know you and allow it to mirror your wellness. What is your experience with beauty? What is your self-care routine? Can you spend five minutes a day taking care of your body, whether it be a shower or a contoured face with an elaborate eye shadow look. I would love to discuss what can allow you to feel beautiful today, because feeling beauty is life changing and powerful. I am able to do all virtual or in-person individualized beauty consultations where we can find a routine that works for you, is compact and quick, and leaves you feeling good in your own skin. Fill this form out to begin the color match process and write in your specific goals if needed.
